Meet Nico: the guy behind Walter White’s Espresso
In 2014, Nico decided it was time for a change. So he quit his job and booked a one-way ticket to a place where it rarely rained: Australia. In the exploding inner-city suburbs of Sydney, Nico worked his way through several hospitality acts, from start-ups to fine restaurants – until he found specialty coffee. From that moment, he knew what he wanted to do (and drink). Every day saw a steady stream of customers – regardless of who they were or what they did, they didn’t start their morning without their regular. And not just at his cafe, but the one up the street, the two around the corner and the four on the road behind that. Takeaway coffee – in particular, specialty coffee – was big business in Australia. And Nico thought: why not the Netherlands? After all, it’s home to the drinkers of the most coffee in the world. So Nico said goodbye to the sun and headed home to Schiphol with an idea. That idea was Walter White’s Espresso.
